Subject: Truth about Dr. James Dobson
Max and Stacy, I love your honest, intelligent, and hip take on the financial news. However, Stacy's comments on the 9/5/09 broadcast regarding Max Blumenthal's interview on Democracy Now took me back. Dr. James Dobson does NOT advocate child beating! Stacy, if you could read 1 of Dobson's books, you would see that Blumenthal's comments are a gross exaggeration. I am a mother of 4, at times a swat on the fanny is necessary. That is all Dobson would recommend. Never is there a hint of a "belt lashing". Blumenthal's overstatements makes me question his ability to separate truth from fiction. The Republican Party uses the "Christian Right" just to get votes. Most US politicians (Democrat or Republican) are anything but Godly men and women. You know that they are lying because their lips are moving! I am a Christian, but I do not agree with the Christian Right. What Blumenthal totally missed is that men like Francis Schafer, Pat Robertson and James Dobson believe in what is termed "Dominunism", meaning that they will influence the US and eventually globe to adopt a Christian government and then Christ will return to rule. These men are sorely misguided and delusional; but mostly arrogant! Please don't lump all Christians in with the so called Christian Right and their vainglorious agenda (which will continue to fail).
